assessments have become popular in recent years. Alternative
assessment procedures listed by Huerta-Macías (1995) include checklists,
journals, logs, videotapes and audiotapes, self-evaluation, and teacher
observations. We would add at least portfolios, conferences, diaries,
self-assessments, and peer assessments.
